GNU Gadu – an instant messenger application, designed to work with IM protocols popular in Poland (but not only).

This is a plugin based application, even GUI (which uses GTK+) is a plugin.
It supports protocols such as: Gadu-Gadu, Tlen.pl, Jabber, and can also send SMS (text) messages.

Very strong modularity is a game of the authors, allowing them to see what mechanisms and what dangers lie hidden in universal software.

GNU Gadu 2.x (gg2) is a continuation of the pioneering GNU Gadu (gg) project created by Igor Popik outlink. Igor, in parallel with Wojtek Kaniewski outlink developed the Gadu-Gadu communicator protocol and implemented it in the GNU Gadu program. At that time Wojtek Kaniewski started working on the EKG outlink project, within which the libgadu library was developed – currently the most up-to-date implementation of the protocol used by GNU Gadu 2.x.
