Apache OpenOffice, AOO (formerly OpenOffice.org, OOo) – a free alternative to the productivity tools in Office – Apache OpenOffice – formerly known as OpenOffice.org. This is an open-source office productivity suite that includes a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, graphics, formula editor, and database management applications.
Apache OpenOffice is the result of over twenty years of software engineering. Designed from the ground up as a single piece of software, it has a consistency unmatched by other products. A completely open development process means anyone can report bugs, request new features, or improve the software.
OpenOffice is available in multiple languages, runs on all popular computers, stores data in ODF, an international open standard format, and can read and write files in other formats, including those used by the most popular office suites. OpenOffice can also export files in PDF format. OpenOffice supports extensions, similar to Mozilla Firefox, making it easy to add new features to an existing OpenOffice installation.
