Yahoo! Messenger – an instant messenger created by Yahoo!. It was originally released on March 9, 1998 under the name Yahoo! Pager. It ended its operations on July 17, 2018. Existed for the platforms Windows, Mac, Linux (Unix).

The program was designed to communicate in real time with other Internet users. The following features are provided: text communication, voice communication, in particular multi-user voice chat, video conferencing, calls to mobile and landline phones, file sharing, online games, customizable online music broadcasts, customizable integrated access to Yahoo! It did not have a version with a Russified interface, but developments were underway in this direction.

Yahoo! Messenger offered its users the ability to send files. Files can be up to 2 GB each. After restarting the software, you can only share certain media: photos, animated GIFs, and videos. It also allows you to share albums with multiple media files in one instant message. The animated GIF feature integrates with Tumblr, owned by Yahoo!
