b2evolution – a weblog software that allows multiple blogs in multiple languages ​​at the same time and is multi-user capable.

From a simple homepage to a blog, a photo gallery or a newsletter… all the way up to a full-featured community site with forums, members directory and private messaging, b2evolution includes everything you need in a single integrated package.

It can be used free of charge under the GNU General Public License 2. François Planque started b2evolution as a fork of b2/cafelog, from which WordPress also emerged. b2evolution is written in PHP and uses a MySQL database. It can be run in almost any LAMP environment.

b2evolution supports multiple users and administrators with one installation. Numerous third-party providers offer plug-ins that make BBCode, LaTeX and graphical smileys or tools such as Gallery 2, YouTube and digg usable. Other features include a spam filter that encompasses the entire user community and records the IPs of spammers in a central blacklist, a skinnable interface, localization in a dozen languages ​​and a fully open API for plug-in developers.

At the beginning of 2022, François Planque announced in that b2evolution will no longer be developed.
