Concrete CMS – a free and open-source content management system (CMS) written in PHP, using a MySQL database. It allows content to be edited directly on the page, which makes it particularly user-friendly for people with little computer skills.

The Concrete5 code is based on the Model-View-Controller architecture and object-oriented programming. The vast majority of the JavaScript code is based on jQuery libraries, while some advanced PHP functions (such as cache support) come from Zend libraries.

One of the most important features of Concrete5 is the ability to edit content directly on the page where it is presented. The structure of a single page is based on blocks, which can be any content, HTML code, automatic navigation, flash objects, surveys, images, forms and the like. The position of blocks on the page can be changed using the “drag and drop” method. Individual subpages in the sitemap are independent of each other, so you can freely change their position among themselves, and there are no limits to the depth of placing individual subpages under others.
