Smeagol – a simple Wiki engine inspired by Gollum. Gollum is a Wiki engine written in Ruby that uses several simple text formats, including Markdown, and that uses Git to provide versioning and backups.

Smeagol is a Wiki engine written in Clojure that uses Markdown as its text format, has user authentication, and uses Git as its versioning and backup system.

Smeagol uses the Markdown format provided by markdown-clj with the addition that anything enclosed in double square brackets will be treated as a link to the Wiki itself.

Smeagol now has good security and authentication. Although the initial password shipped with the system is not encrypted, it will be after a change; and passwords for new users added via the user administration pages are encrypted.

You can (if you are logged in) upload files, including images, using the Upload File link in the top menu bar. You can link to an uploaded image or to other images already available on the web.

Smeagol has built internationalization, and currently has translation files for English, German, Lithuanian, and Russian.

Smeagol is an open source project; you are free to make changes yourself.
