Oddmuse – an open-source simple wiki engine written in Perl that does not require a database to work.

Oddmuse has been developed by Alex Schröder since 2003. The wiki engine consists of one large Perl script. Once installed on a web host, the script generates a wiki – a website where users can read, change, add new and delete old pages. All pages are accessed via the script.

Features:
– Easy installation: just copy one file to the appropriate directory and you’re done.
– No dependencies on version control tools or database installations.
– The web server requires Perl installed.
– Easy to use for users, easy to hack for developers.
– Supports multilingual sites.
– Unicode (UTF-8) by default.
– Valid HTML; CSS friendly.
– Multi-level caching.
– Easy to download.

Oddmuse is based on UseMod version 0.92 by Clifford Adams and many patches published on the UseMod website. UseMod itself is based on AtisWiki 0.3 by Markus Denker. AtisWiki is based on CVWiki by Peter Merel. CVWiki is based on the original WikiWikiWeb by Ward Cunningham.
