Google Chrome – a fast, simple, and secure web browser, built for the modern web. Chrome is designed to be fast in every possible way. It’s quick to start up from your desktop, loads web pages in a snap, and runs complex web applications lightning fast. Chrome’s browser window is streamlined, clean and simple.

Chrome is designed to keep you safer and more secure on the web with built-in malware and phishing protection, auto-updates to make sure you have all the latest security fixes, and more. Chrome puts you in control of your private information while helping protect the information you share when you’re online. By default, Google Chrome blocks pop-ups from automatically showing up on your screen.

Google releases the majority of Chrome’s source code as the Chromium open-source project; however, Chrome itself is a proprietary software.

It is available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android and iOS operating systems. The Google Chrome browser takes a sandboxing-based approach to Web security. Each open website runs as its own process, which helps prevent malicious code on one page from affecting others (or the computer operating system at large). The browser also supports Web standards such as HTML5 and cascading style sheets (CSS).

Google Chrome is also the main component of Chrome OS, where it serves as a platform for running web apps.
