Nuxeo – a free enterprise content management system developed by Nuxeo SA. The system offers standard functionality for document management, including records management and workflow.

Nuxeo was founded in the year 2000 by Stefane Fermigier. Eric Barroca became the CEO and Director of the management Board in December 2008.

The Nuxeo project was announced in September 2007 as a new implementation of the Nuxeo Collaborative Portal Server (Nuxeo CPS) and a move from Zope and Python to Java EE technology. In February 2007, Nuxeo 5.0 was released as the first stable version.

Nuxeo is based on Jakarta EE open source technologies such as: B. OSGi, Apache Jackrabbit, Hibernate, Lucene or JavaServer Faces.

Nuxeo EP can be easily adapted to specific situations using plug-ins.

Nuxeo’s architecture uses the following open standards:
– Repository API: Java Content Repository API
– Identity Management/SingleSignOn: LDAP, MS Active Directory
– Web Services API and use of web services and RSS
– Workflow: BPEL/jBPM, WfMC
